The Relationship Associate will report directly to the Sales Supervisor with primary responsibility for all customer support within a territory. The Relationship Associate will be responsible for growth, consulting, project management within the territory. The Relationship Associate can advance in the Sales organization by identifying and cultivating a portfolio of 20 key accounts totaling a minimum of $2.5M with the potential growth of at least $4M. The Relationship Associate will then train his/her replacement for the territory and will become a Strategic Accounts Manager with responsibility to grow and develop the identified portfolio.

Essential Job Duties

Territory management:

  • Incoming telephone calls
  • Account management
  • Strategic plans
  • Consulting

Project management:

  • Coordinate with and maintain good relationships with the technical departments, and all areas of the company.
  • Develop alignment of goals between sales and lab departments.
  • Sample tracking and reporting Login through reporting
  • Know and follow the Nelson service standard.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc).
  • Know and follow company policies and procedures.

Professional Development

  • Complete required training on time.

Perform other duties as assigned.


High School Diploma or Equivalent, plus, five years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales; or AA/BS degree with two years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales.

Physical Requirements

Must be able stand/walk for 20% of the day and 80% of the day sitting at a desk or on the computer. Must be able to occasionally lift a maximum of 15lbs.
