Glassware/Supply Tech I    


Non - Exempt



Job summary:

Wash a wide variety of glassware to be re-used throughout the laboratory for testing.  Ensure proper labeling of all items processed.  Maintain the clean glassware storage areas.

Essential job functions:

General Laboratory Glassware

         Wash, rinse, label, and organize glassware according to procedure.

         Ensure that "return" samples get back to study directors.  Read all labels before removing them.

         Do not throw away anything unless it is known to be disposable.

         Maintain segregation of clean and dirty glassware.

Bioburden Processing

         Wash bottles and funnels according to procedure.

         Wrap bottles and funnels for sterilization according to procedure.


         Wash, rinse, separate by size, and label as clean.

         Ensure all lids are dry before putting them in storage drawers and/or bins.

Automatic Glassware Washers

         Wash only glassware that is validated to be run in the glassware washers.

         Ensure all sample pieces are removed from the bottles to avoid damaging the washers.

Good Housekeeping

         Complete the daily and weekly glassware 5S checklists.

         Follow good housekeeping practices in all areas.

         Monitor the clean glassware storage areas and complete the associated form.

Regulatory Compliance

         Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc).

         Know and follow company policies and procedures.

Professional Development

         Complete required training in a timely manner (includes MasterControl, live company trainings, New Employee Orientation, etc.)

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

Strong attention to detail, self motivated, able to follow written and verbal instructions, work fast paced.

Physical requirements:

Standing for long periods of time, Able to lift up to 30 lbs. repetitively, hand dexterity; able to grip bottles, pushing loaded carts (50-100 lbs.)

Education and experience requirements:

At least 18 years old, High School diploma or equivalent
