Talent Acquisition Manager




Job Summary: 

The talent acquisition manager will lead the company's efforts to attract the talent necessary to exceed our customers' needs and help make Nelson Laboratories (NL) an employer of choice.  To do this, this person will work with hiring managers to understand the real needs of the business and orchestrate the process to meet those needs.  This includes building and leveraging rich and diverse pools of talent and providing a top notch candidate and manager experience. 


Essential Duties:

As part of this role, the Talent Acquisition (TA) Manager will:

  • Develop a strategy for acquiring top talent for NL and build and improves the processes necessary to execute the strategy
  • Manage the TA hiring team to identify and recruit from all relevant NL talent sources, including industry, college, and intern hires.  Incorporate best practices to include diverse candidates in all talent pools.
  • As necessary, assess the needs of, identify a talent pool for, and personally lead searches for niche or senior-level roles
  • Partner with relevant internal parties to articulate the employee value proposition, and build that into the hiring process
  • Build recruiting capability in hiring managers, including both best practices and understanding of legal and EEOC requirements
  • Facilitate regular communication with hiring managers on recruitment status
  • Manage social media and other online networks for the benefit of talent attraction
  • Continually research and implement current and effective recruitment best practices
  • Build an ongoing pipeline of talent in key areas and areas of high volume recruitment needs
  • As an active staff member of the human resources department, seek to build strong relationships with the team, contribute to the concepts of resource sharing, and help to build and maintain the NLI culture and retain key talent.
  • Travel Occasional/Frequent local travel during the business day, although, some out-of-the area and overnight travel may be expected.

  • Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.).
  • Know and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training on time.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, telephones, photocopiers, projectors and file cabinets. Typically works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting.


Physical requirements:

Must be able to sit at a desk on a computer for 90% of the day and be standing or walking 10% of the day. Able to lift 50 pounds for set up and tear down of career fair equipment. 


Education and experience requirements:

         Bachelor's degree in science, business, HR, or equivalent experience

         Minimum 8 years of applicable recruiting experience

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

         Proficiency in office technology used in recruiting, including ATS, Microsoft Office

         Demonstrated leadership as a mentor, coach, manager, and business partner

         Demonstrated ability to create and implement recruiting strategy

         Demonstrated knowledge of current employment laws and practices
