Job Description

Sales Assistant

Classification:

Non-Exempt Hourly

Schedule:

Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm

Job summary:

The Sales Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Sales functions of the Relationship Associates/Managers as described below.  

Essential job functions:

         Conduct timely and proficient lead follow-up and qualification

         Coordinate routine sample submissions and projects between NLI labs and clients

         Work proficiently within CRM to record, track and use lead, client and project progress

         Prepare and coordinate price quotations with Sales and clients

         Answer the general sales line

         Answer general requests received through e-mail

         Assist the Sales team with proactive client strategies, contact and follow-up

         Provide client research and strategic analysis for proactive sales activities

         Coordinate with clients and labs regarding sample tracking, status and client communication

         Offsite travel for client sample pick-up service

         Provide responsive and accurate customer service

         Know and follow the Nelson service standard.

Regulatory Compliance

         Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc).

         Know and follow company policies and procedures.

Professional Development

  • Complete required training on time.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively (English)
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be willing and able to learn technical aspects of microbiology/medical device testing
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills; including legible handwriting
  • Must be able to follow directions, organize and follow through on projects
  • Must be able to manage time for maximum productivity
  • Must be able to respond to voicemails, emails and other communications in a timely manner.
  • Must have basic computer skills- general knowledge of Microsoft Office

Physical requirements:

Must be able stand/walk for 20% of the day and 80% of the day sitting at a desk or on the computer. Must be able to occasionally lift a maximum of 15lbs.

Education and experience requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and five years of experience in sales/customer service or AA/BS degree with two years of experience in sales/customer service.
